OUHSC CMDA

The Christian Medical and Dental Association (CMDA) is a national organization with a local OUHSC chapter, made up of Christian students, faculty, and friends from the OUHSC campus who support one another in the faith, grow together in Christian community, and aim to share the love of Christ throughout campus and beyond. We have a weekly Bible study, as well as other events throughout the year, including a yearly medical mission trip opportunity during spring break!

Our mission trip teams consist of OUHSC students representing different programs on campus, including the graduate, dental, nursing, medical, physician associate, pharmacy, and allied health programs. We have many local providers from the OK community and faculty from OUHSC who have faithfully served on the CMDA missions trips for 20+ years and are experienced in their respective fields. Our team works hand-in-hand with missionaries and churches in Peru to treat the sick in the communities in which they work and live.

The goal of our trip to provide medical care in an a medically underserved area of Peru and to share to the love of Christ with the people that we meet. The opportunity we have had over the years of continued partner with a local missionary, mission organization, and church has allowed us to longitudinally serve alongside with and strengthen relationships with those who know and love this part of Peru well.
